Today was a sad day. The services for 30 yr old Cpl Jason Lemke of West Allis, Wi was held.
My friend Annette ( Net) and I met in Fremont at 11 am to drive down to Greenfield where the services were held. The wake was form 3-7 and funeral at 7pm. We arrived shortly after 1:30 today and helped Kevin ( Contractor) and Larry ( Uncle Larry ) put up flags all around the funeral home.
Then from 3-7 pm we stood in the flag line. This mission was especially special since my mom came to the funeral home and got to see the PGR in action. It was a cold day but knowing in our hearts why we were there kept us warm. The ugs tried to come but the Greenfield police did a great job keeping them at bay several blocks away out of site.
It was awesome seeing the firetrucks pull in the parking lot and the firemen coming to pay their respects. Jason's father was a retired fireman for Greenfield.
My friend Annette made a trip inside to the bathroom and inside met a very special lady. She was Jason's fiancee' . Who was in tears. Annette presented her with a Shields of strength dog tag and after she read it, they hugged each other and cried together.
I arrived home about 10:30 tonight. As I get ready for bed I just want to say Thank you Cpl Jason Lemke for making this ultimate sacrifice for freedom. For your family and mine. We will never forget !! God Bless You and Your Family
